Susan's work at Little Sprouts closed the achievement gap 9 years in a row in schools serving the most at-risk communities such as Roxbury, Lawrence and Lowell, Massachussetts. The model created by her team was part of a 9-year research project under the US Department of Education, measuring at-risk early education programs across the country. In 2012, Susan sold Little Sprouts and its 18 locations after 30+ years in operations. She grew the business by 225% in 4 years leading up to its sale.
Her latest start up, as Co-Founder and CEO, is The Imaginal Group - an organization that empowers progressive public and private sector leaders to embrace the impact of the Life Sciences and Behavioral Economics, thereby leveraging the purpose and potential of every human life.
Susan has been the recipient of many awards honoring her life's work including INC. Magazine's Top 100 ICIC Award, Boston Business Journal's Top 100 Women in Business, US Department of Educations' Schools of Excellence, Enterprise Bank Entrepreneur of the Year, and was inducted into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
