Founder & President of Wine To Water, Top 10 CNN Hero, Author, Philanthropist and Expert on the ‘Power of One’
Doc Hendley is proof that anyone, even a tattooed keg tapper, can cure what ails the world. He is an expert on the immense power of relationships to transcend perceived barriers. Doc will take you on an inspirational journey, where he shares his experience by focusing on innovation, motivation and teamwork - and the brilliant change that can be effected.
In 2003, Doc Hendley dreamed up the concept of Wine to Water while bartending and playing music in nightclubs around Raleigh, North Carolina. In January, 2004 he held his first fundraiser and by August was living in Darfur, Sudan installing water systems for victims of the government supported genocide.
When Doc returned home in 2005, the haunting memories of what he had seen in Darfur drove him to continue growing the organization he had started only two years earlier. And in 2007, after working two jobs and volunteering his time for over three years, Wine To Water became an official 501 (c)(3) non-profit aid organization and Doc’s dream finally became a reality.
Hendley’s work aims to help the 1.1 billion people worldwide who lack access to clean water, a figure estimated by the World Health Organization. Nearly two-thirds of that group lives in Asia. In sub-Saharan Africa, 42% of the population lives without yard taps, household connections or other improvements to sanitize water. Unclean water is the number one killer of children in the world. Doc Hendley was named one of the Top 10 CNN Heroes for 2009 (chosen by a panel of judges including Gen. Colin Powell, Whoopi Goldberg, Ted Turner and Sir Elton John).
His book, Wine to Water: A Bartender's Quest to Bring Clean Water to the World (Avery:Penguin, Jan 2012), is a captivating story of an ordinary bartender who's changing the world through clean water.

Inspirational and motivational speaker, former Chief of the Defence Staff for the Canadian Forces. Winner of the Vimy Award.
General Rick Hillier was Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff - the highest ranking position in the Canadian Forces - from February 4, 2005 to July 1, 2008. Born in Newfoundland and Labrador, General Hillier joined the Canadian Forces as soon as he could. Having enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1973 through the Regular Officer Training Plan program, he graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
After completing his armor officer classification training, he joined his first regiment, the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) in Petawawa, Ontario. Subsequently, he served with, and later commanded, the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Canada and Germany. In July 2008 after 35 years of loyal service General Hillier retired from the Canadian Armed Forces.
Throughout his career, General Hillier has had the privilege and pleasure of commanding troops from the platoon to multi-national formation level within Canada, Europe, Asia and the United States. He has worked as a staff officer in several headquarters, first at the Army level in Montreal and later at the strategic level in Ottawa.
In 1998 General Hillier was appointed as the first Canadian Deputy Commanding General of III Corps, US Army in Fort Hood, Texas. In 2000 he took command of NATO's Stabilization Force's Multinational Division in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In May 2003 General Hillier was appointed as Commander of the Army and subsequently, in October 2003, he was selected as the Commander of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul, Afghanistan. General Hillier was promoted to Chief of the Defence Staff in February 2005.
In Afghanistan, Canada faced its first combat losses since the Korean War, with every casualty becoming front page news. There, as everywhere, Hillier pulled no punches, demanding more funding, more troops and more appreciation for the women and men fighting a war on foreign soil.
A Solder First: Bullets, Bureaucrats, and the Politics of War was released in October of 2009. This hard-hitting, honest account of Hillier's role -- told in his own words -- will be one of the most important books published in Canada this decade. General Rick Hillier's newest book is entitled Leadership: 50 Points of Wisdom for Today's Leaders.
General Hillier was recently named an Officer of the Order of Canada. He and his wife have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a new grandson. He enjoys most recreational pursuits but, in particular, runs slowly, plays hockey poorly and golfs very well as long as he does not have to sink the ball.

Motivational Speaker and Author on how to cultivate positive working environments
Keynote speaker Vicki Hitzges connects with her audience. She’ll give your group the skills to create a productive, positive work environment. You’ll notice a change in employee morale, increased teamwork and improved customer service. That means you’ll enjoy higher profits. Having happy employees could be the MOST significant factor in your organization’s success!
Vicki had a dream first job working in the Dallas Cowboy’s front office. That job led to a career in television in Dallas where she had the privilege of interviewing U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, both George Bush and George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. She attributes her ability to talk to audiences today because she had to think fast and speak to everyone from political figures to business moguls to movie stars and athletes, under the pressure and bright lights of a television studio.
Later, as a publicist, she worked to get clients featured in the news. One of her clients, motivational guru, Zig Ziglar, admired Vicki’s creativity and urged her to speak. In fact, she became one of only a few speakers he personally mentored. Within three months, she’d spoken around the world.
Due to that rich background, Vicki learned to craft stories, use humor, share practical content and involve her audience. In 2004, she earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation. CSP is the highest earned designation awarded by the National Speakers Association to recognize proven expertise and experience. Fewer than ten per cent of speakers worldwide hold the title.
She’s authored two books that enjoy five-star reviews and have sold more than 10,000 copies within the first year of being printed (rare for business books), Attitude is Everything and Stuck on Stop – How to Quit Procrastinating.
She’s spoken across the U.S. and as far away as Qatar, New Zealand (twice), Panama and Thailand.
Powerhouse clients include Microsoft, Allstate, Cisco, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, New York Life, Chase Bank, GTE, EDS, Bell Helicopter, M&T Bank, the US Marines, the FBI, Baylor Hospital, Safeway, Victoria’s Secret, Deloitte & Touche, Merck, Abbott, and the CIA.
Your group will enjoy Vicki. (And if they want to hear behind-the-scenes scoop from her years of reporting about celebrities including President Bill Clinton, singer Better Midler or actor-director Ron Howard…have ‘em ask!)
