Inspirational and motivational speaker, former Chief of the Defence Staff for the Canadian Forces. Winner of the Vimy Award.
General Rick Hillier was Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff - the highest ranking position in the Canadian Forces - from February 4, 2005 to July 1, 2008. Born in Newfoundland and Labrador, General Hillier joined the Canadian Forces as soon as he could. Having enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1973 through the Regular Officer Training Plan program, he graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
After completing his armor officer classification training, he joined his first regiment, the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) in Petawawa, Ontario. Subsequently, he served with, and later commanded, the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Canada and Germany. In July 2008 after 35 years of loyal service General Hillier retired from the Canadian Armed Forces.
Throughout his career, General Hillier has had the privilege and pleasure of commanding troops from the platoon to multi-national formation level within Canada, Europe, Asia and the United States. He has worked as a staff officer in several headquarters, first at the Army level in Montreal and later at the strategic level in Ottawa.
In 1998 General Hillier was appointed as the first Canadian Deputy Commanding General of III Corps, US Army in Fort Hood, Texas. In 2000 he took command of NATO's Stabilization Force's Multinational Division in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In May 2003 General Hillier was appointed as Commander of the Army and subsequently, in October 2003, he was selected as the Commander of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul, Afghanistan. General Hillier was promoted to Chief of the Defence Staff in February 2005.
In Afghanistan, Canada faced its first combat losses since the Korean War, with every casualty becoming front page news. There, as everywhere, Hillier pulled no punches, demanding more funding, more troops and more appreciation for the women and men fighting a war on foreign soil.
A Solder First: Bullets, Bureaucrats, and the Politics of War was released in October of 2009. This hard-hitting, honest account of Hillier's role -- told in his own words -- will be one of the most important books published in Canada this decade. General Rick Hillier's newest book is entitled Leadership: 50 Points of Wisdom for Today's Leaders.
General Hillier was recently named an Officer of the Order of Canada. He and his wife have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a new grandson. He enjoys most recreational pursuits but, in particular, runs slowly, plays hockey poorly and golfs very well as long as he does not have to sink the ball.

Miles Hilton-Barber is one of the most widely sought-after motivational speakers on the world circuit today, having had the privilege of speaking at over 1,400 corporate events in 74 countries to date.

Since the age of 50 Miles has set numerous world records undertaking extreme endurance events across all seven continents of our world in the fields of mountaineering, desert and polar ultra-marathons, power-boat racing, scuba-diving, motor-racing and long distance, aerobatic and supersonic flying amongst other achievements.
His presentation outlines a radical yet simple set of life principles that will enable companies, individuals and organizations to become more successful today, despite facing unprecedented global change - all of this wrapped up in a fast-moving, colorful and humorous presentation with photos and video clips from his many expeditions and adventures.

Motivational Speaker and Author on how to cultivate positive working environments
Vicki Hitzges (“Hits’ guess”) is an expert in creating positive work environments. (Whether the work takes place at home or in a commercial building.)
Vicki knows her stuff. She first ramped up her speaking skills as a Dallas TV news anchor. In her early 20’s, she was named Bureau Chief at KTVT in Dallas, at the time, the largest, independent television station in the nation. Next, she anchored for the NBC affiliate (KRIS) in Corpus Christi, TX where she won the National Headliner Award from the Press Club of Atlantic City. She then co-hosted the Dallas Cowboy’s weekly TV show, Special Edition, before becoming a publicist. That matters to you because she tells interesting stories and edits sizzling videos that inform and entertain.
As a publicist, one of her clients included the man then considered the world’s top motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar. Impressed with her creativity, Zig urged Vicki to speak and personally mentored her.
Vicki speaks across the world to associations, companies, and universities who want a proven, strong message about teamwork, customer service, and how to keep a positive work environment.
Vicki holds a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) title. When she earned that honor in 2004, only seven percent of speakers held it worldwide--and just a few hundred women.
She’s authored two books, the first of which sold out the first day! Bam! All 5,000 copies! Gone! That book, Attitude is Everything – 10 Steps to Staying Positive, sells internationally as does her second book, Stuck on Stop – How to Quit Procrastinating.
Vicki enjoys interesting sermons and stories, clean comedy, chocolate, lively conversation, and crushing opponents in board games. (Not necessarily in that order.)

Branding and innovation expert, author of Radical Careering, one of advertising’s most celebrated thinkers.
Sally Hogshead is a Hall of Fame speaker, international author, and the world's leading expert on fascination. Growing up with the last name Hogshead would give anyone an unconventional point of view. After graduating from Duke University and starting in advertising, Sally was named
the most successful junior copywriter of all time. At age 27 she opened her first agency, and went on to conquer the worlds of branding and marketing.
Over the past decade, Sally's research has uncovered surprising trends. In today's distracted world, people have a 9-second attention span. With only 9
seconds to communicate value, we must use our advantages to immediately break through. Sally teaches how to break through the distraction and competition by creating moments of intense focus.
When you fascinate a customer or employee, you create exciting moments of connection. Your listener is far more likely to remember and value you.
In her research, Sally has measured over 100,000 people to identify a scientific approach to personal branding.
A few findings in Sally's research:
- Your personality uses identifiable patterns of persuasion
- When you fascinate customers, they're more likely to trust and respect you
- Fascinating brands can charge up to 4x more than commodity brands
- Companies that fascinate employees have higher productivity
- Women will spend more to be fascinating than they spend on food and clothes combined ($338/month)
Rather than measuring how you see the world, Sally measures how the world sees you.
Sally's first book was Radical Careering: 100 Truths to Jumpstart Your Job, Your Career, and Your Life. She toured the country as a spokesperson for CareerBuilder.com, teaching how to apply strengths at work.
Her next book, FASCINATE, was published around the globe, earning Sally a frequent spotlight in major media including Today Show and the New York Times. The press describes Sally as a

Heed them because forewarned is forearmed with respect to future economic, political and geo-political events.” What are the forces and trends driving and disrupting the business environment, the economy and how will they impact you, your industry, and your investment decisions? Those are the questions Ron has answered for viewers and listeners every single day for over three decades. Currently a contributor to CNBC where he also served as anchor and correspondent since 1991, Ron also hosts The Market Score Board Report, a thrice-daily nationally syndicated radio program.
As a financial journalist, Ron stands alone as someone who ran his own hedge fund - experience that adds to the depth of his insights. He’s also written for Moneymagazine, USA Today, and authored four best-selling books on investing and reading the financial market. In Ron’s speeches, he explains how Wall Street, Main Street and Washington intersect –translating the market signals and political maneuvers into actionable information everyone can understand and use - to protect what they have and find opportunities in any type of market condition.
Ron Insana was a trailblazer; among the first group of financial journalists who launched the Financial News Network (FNN) in 1984. When FNN merged with CNBC in 1991, Ron continued to cover the most important stories affecting the financial markets as an anchor and correspondent on CNBC and on other NBC news outlets. In the process, he became one of the most visible reporters broadcasting financial news.
Over the years, Ron became well-known for his high-profile interviews, which included Presidents Clinton and Bush; billionaire investors Warren Buffett, George Soros and Julian Robertson, among others; captains of industry like Bill Gates, Jack Welch and the late Steve Jobs; top economists, analysts and global heads of state, from Former Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, to Jordan's Queen, Rania.
During his broadcasting career, Ron received numerous honors for his work. He was named one of the "Top 100 Business News Journalists of the 20th Century" and was nominated for a news and documentary Emmy Award for his role in NBC's coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attack.
In addition to his work as a business journalist, Insana was the CEO of Insana Capital Partners, from 2006-2008, which, at its peak, managed the $125 million Insana Capital Partners Legends Fund. His hands-on experience in the financial industry – through some of the markets’ most turbulent times – gives Ron an added depth of perspective that few financial journalists can match.
Ron Insana has authored four best-selling books: How to Make a Fortune from the Biggest Bailout in U.S. History (2009); Traders Tales: A Chronicle of Wall Street Myths, Legends, and Outright Lies (1996), Trend Watching: Don’t Be Fooled by the Next Investment Fad, Mania, or Bubble (2002), and The Message of the Markets (2000).
In addition to writing, contributing, and advising, Ron Insana is a highly-regarded speaker on domestic and global economics, financial markets, and economic policy issues. He is also currently senior adviser at Schroders Investment Management.

After a 17-year distinguished career as an NFL quarterback, today Ron Jaworski is coaching football fans on TV with a multi-platform NFL analyst role that includes appearances on Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, NFL Matchup, NFL-branded specials, Mike & Mike in the Morning, Pardon the Interruption, and other platforms and shows throughout the year. ESPN’S Mike Tirico said, “If you made a list of 10 guys on TV in any sport as an analyst who you'd want to have a beverage with and watch a game, he’s [Ron Jaworski] high on that list.”
Before switching to his current multi-platform analyst role with ESPN, Ron spent five seasons in the booth with Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden as the color commentator for Monday Night Football.
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Jaworski in the second round of the 1973 NFL Draft. After four years with the Rams, Jaworski joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 1977. Under head coach Dick Vermeil and behind Jaworski’s ability and field leadership, the Eagles advanced to their first-ever berth in a Super Bowl vs. the Oakland Raiders. Jaworski finished the 1980 season as the No. 1-rated passer in the NFC and was the 1980 NFL MVP.
Along the way, Ron became known as "Jaws." The name was hung on him by his next-door neighbor at the time, Doug Collins, who was a star guard for the Philadelphia 76ers and today is their coach. “He didn’t come up with Jaws because of that shark movie, though.” Jaws says, “Doug said it was because my mouth was always open, talking.”
Until Ron suffered a broken leg at St. Louis during the 13th game of the 1984 season, he had started 116 straight NFL games, a record for most consecutive starts. Jaws held that record until 1999, when Brett Favre broke it.
He’s also the author of “The Games That Changed the Game,” which highlights seven games in NFL history that changed the strategies and tactics used in NFL football.
Today, Jaworski lives in Southern New Jersey and is civically active. Jaworski is committed to the Jaws Youth Playbook, which focuses on a mission to motivate and improve the overall health and wellness of at-risk youth, primarily in the Greater Philadelphia Region. To date, the Jaworski family is proud to have donated over $3 million to at-risk youth.
