The incredible generosity of his childhood friend’s family inspired Kendal to give back when he launched his company, Neechie Gear® - a lifestyle apparel brand that empowers youth through sports. A percentage of all Neechie Gear® profits go toward funding underprivileged youth to take part in sports. While finishing two degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Kendal worked on growing the brand, which was founded out of Kendal’s small, one-bedroom apartment. Eric O’Neill Speaker

Eric O’Neill

National Security Strategist at VMWare Carbon Black, Former FBI Agent, Bestselling Author & Speaker on Cybersecurity

 About

In 2001, Eric O’Neill helped capture the most notorious spy in United States history: Robert Hanssen, a 25-year veteran of the FBI. The remarkable true events of his life are the inspiration behind the critically acclaimed dramatic thriller Breach, starring Ryan Philippe as O’Neill, and his bestselling novel Gray Day. The film set inside the FBI- the gatekeeper of the nation’s most sensitive and potentially volatile secrets – is the story of the greatest security breach in US history.

Preceding Hanssen’s arrest, O’Neill worked with the spy within the information assurance division that protected all classified FBI intelligence. O’Neill gained Hanssen’s trust and used that relationship to slowly draw the traitor out of deep cover.

O’Neill began his career in the FBI as a graduate of the FBI’s Intelligence Program. He spent the first five years of his career as a special surveillance group field operative tasked to surveil and monitor foreign, national, and domestic terrorists and spies. He transitioned from field operative to direct undercover work focusing on Hanssen. Although his prior training had focused on “ghosting” targets from the shadows, he engaged his target in conversation in order to elicit information needed to catch Hanssen in the act of espionage. The singular nature of the assignment, one with little backup or support, required O’Neill to draw from deep reserves of courage and confidence within himself to battle Hanssen’s mind games and aggressive probing and learn to “stop reacting to Hanssen and begin acting.”

Currently, Eric O’Neill runs The Georgetown Group, a premier investigative and security consultancy, where he specializes in counterintelligence operations, investigations into economic espionage, cybersecurity penetrations, internal investigations, catching the trusted insider and security risk assessment consulting out of Washington, DC. Eric is also the National Security Strategist for Carbon Black, the leader in next-generation endpoint protection, where he provides insight and advice on strategic cyber-security issues and will work to ensure Carbon Black is an active participant in the conversation about the national strategy for cybersecurity.

O’Neill’s story is one of patriotism, of decisive action in the face of fear, and of learning to maintain confidence in ability even if it looks like success is impossible. He has told his story in national media, in print, on radio, and on television including 20/20, Nightline, Hardball with Chris Mathews, Fox News Power Player of the Week with Chris Wallace, CNN, CSPAN’s Washington Journal, NPR’s “Fresh Air with Terry Gross,” World News Now, MTV, and Access Hollywood.

A talented motivational speaker who weaves real-life experiences into a presentation that is both entertaining and rewarding, Eric O’Neill provides practical insights into real work situations relevant to many industries. In addition to his experience in the Hanssen case, he also addresses the issues of

Andy Papathanassiou Speaker

Andy Papathanassiou

Pit Crew Coach & Speaker on Teamwork and Personal Leadership

 About

Andy Papathanssiou is nearing a twenty-seven year career with Hendrick Motorsports – NASCAR’s modern day dynasty. Andy's team building techniques and Over The Wall philosophy have transformed the paradigm of how all NASCAR pit crews operate. Andy employed an athletic mindset which centered on practice and repetition, coaching and review, innovation and process improvement - to result in peak performance. An accomplished communicator, motivator and presenter, Andy's keynotes are about creating hyper-successful teams, innovative thinking and transformational leadership.

Andy has a bachelor's degree in Economics, and a master's degree in Organizational Behavior from Stanford. After college, he discovered NASCAR by sneaking into the garage area and volunteering with a team at the Sears Point (Infineon) Raceway in Sonoma, CA in 1990 - where he saw his first pit stop. He joined Hendrick Motorsports in 1992 as the #24 DuPont team's pit crew coordinator; a first in NASCAR.

Papathanassiou sought pit crew members with athletic experience. He had them practice frequently and undergo teambuilding exercises as well as strength training. Under his guidance, Jeff Gordon's 1995 pit crew frequently had the fastest pit stops, which contributed towards the team's championship. Other teams took notice, and by the late 1990s most teams had adopted Papathanassiou's methods. Teams now recruit and employ many former college athletes, and pit stop times have decreased from 18 or 19 seconds in the early 1990s to 11 seconds today.

Papathanassiou remains with Hendrick Motorsports as Director of Human Performance, a role similar to a collegiate athletic director. The Hendrick pit program encompasses scouting and recruiting, practice and training, injury rehab, nutritional and sports psychology support for the crew members. In 2006, in addition to his Hendrick duties, he was elected as Executive Director of the North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA), a position he held until 2012. The NCMA promotes the state’s six billion dollar motorsports industry through events, business development, education programs, workforce development and public policy. He currently sits on the board of directors. Papathanassiou regularly gives keynote speeches and conducts teamwork/team building seminars about the techniques he has developed and how universally they can be applied.

You need something unexpected, unique, fresh, not just the same old speaker, comedian, magician or band. Look to The Passing Zone and you will find two grown men who demonstrate teamwork by leaping around the stage in fuchsia leotards, with rapid-fire banter, throwing sickles around the body of someone from the audience (or your CEO) - as they receive a standing ovation. The audience will cheer on in delight - as they witness roaring chainsaws, flaming torches and knives flying through the air! You found an inspirational and unforgettable experience. You found a surprise. You found genuine laughter, the kind that makes your face hurt.

Jon and Owen have been educating and entertaining audiences together for over 20 years; they have one of the longest standing partnerships in corporate entertainment - a true demonstration of The Power of Partnership. They met in 1986 at a juggling convention and instantly knew they were destined to be a team. But they decided to graduate from college first, which they both did. Two weeks after their first performance together they won the Silver Medal at the International Juggler's Association teams competition. The next year they won Gold.

They have appeared on The Tonight Show, The Today Show and were finalists on America's Got Talent. They are at the top of their craft, with performances at the White House and in London for Prince Charles. More recently, they appeared in the award-winning comedy documentary, The Aristocrats.

Add the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, MADtv, AOL's TV's Top 5, The Wall Street Journal, the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, four Guinness World Records, their own theater show, Gravity Attacks! and you have one of today's top comedy acts in the world.

Joseph Pine Speaker

Joseph Pine

Acclaimed Author, Management Speaker and Advisor to Fortune 500 Companies

 About

B. Joseph Pine II is an internationally acclaimed author, speaker, and management advisor to Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial start-ups alike. He is co-founder of Strategic Horizons LLP - a thinking studio dedicated to helping businesses strategize, conceive and design new ways of adding value to their economic offerings.

In 1999 Mr. Pine and his partner James H. Gilmore wrote the best-selling book The Experience Economy: Work Is Theatre & Every Business a Stage, which demonstrates how goods and services are no longer enough; what companies must offer today are experiences - memorable events that engage each customer in an inherently personal way.

In the summer of 2011 Mr. Pine released Infinite Possibility: Creating Customer Value on the Digital Frontier, which showcases how to use digital technology to stage experiences that fuse the real and the virtual. At its core is a new framework called the Multiverse that builds on the fundamental nature of the created universe - time, space, and matter - by showing how digital technology flips each of these dimensions on their head to create new worlds, first in our imagination and then in our experience.

Captain Charlie Plumb Speaker

Captain Charlie Plumb

Inspiring Story of Survival from a Vietnam P.O.W.

 About

Captain Charlie Plumb has lived what he believes to be the American Dream. As a farm kid from Kansas, he fantasized about airplanes although he felt certain he would never have the opportunity to pilot one. It would be the United States Navy who afforded Plumb the opportunity to live out that dream.

Captain Plumb personalizes for each audience a highly motivational message of overcoming adversity - his and yours. Having emerged as a Prisoner of War after almost 6 years, Plumb tells a tale of inspiring self-reliance. In an upbeat, humorous, and dynamic style he draws upon this experience to demonstrate how to turn adversities, the hard times each one of us faces, into assets in today's market place and in daily living. The focus of his presentations center on Choice, Adversity, Teamwork, Empowerment and Change.

After graduating from the Naval Academy, Plumb completed Navy Flight Training and reported to Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego where he flew the first adversarial flights in the development of what would be called The Navy Fighter Weapons School, currently known as TOP GUN. The next year, Plumb's squadron the Aardvarks launched on the Aircraft Carrier USS Kitty Hawk with Fighter Squadron 114 to fly the Navy's hottest airplane, the F-4 Phantom Jet. Code named Plumber - Charlie Plumb flew 74 successful combat missions over North Viet Nam and made over 100 carrier landings. On his 75th mission, just five days before the end of his tour, Plumb was shot down over Hanoi, taken prisoner, tortured, and spent the next 2,103 days as a Prisoner Of War.

An expert at incorporating company jargon and industry buzzwords to reach the hearts and minds of each audience, Captain Plumb shares his insights on coping with the challenges of every day life, and business competition, in the 21st century. He helps audiences break free of their own self-constructed prisons of doubt. He helps them uncover a new sense of purpose and potential. He gives each participant the strength to rise above the daily challenges of work and home - and to recognize the opportunities that surround them. He leaves his listeners wanting to achieve and excel, no matter what the obstacles.

Following his repatriation, Plumb continued his Navy flying career in Reserve Squadrons where he flew A-4 Sky Hawks, A-7 Corsairs and FA-18 Hornets. His last two commands as a Naval Reservist were the on the Aircraft Carrier Corral Sea, and at a Fighter Air Wing in California. He retired from the United States Navy after 28 years of service.

To this day, Captain Plumb continues to fly left-seat at every opportunity. He has personally owned 8 airplanes, the most treasured being a World War II PT-19 Open-Cockpit Antique. He currently owns a Rutan-designed experimental single-engine Long-Eze.

Cheryl Pounder Speaker

Cheryl Pounder

2 x Olympic Gold Medalist, Motivational Speaker, Broadcaster

 About

Cheryl Pounder brings her high energy and effervescent personality to each and every event, large or small. With her warmth and friendliness, Cheryl immediately makes guests feel like they have a new friend. For fundraising events, Cheryl encourages giving and supports the cause with inspirational personal stories. With galas and award presentations, Cheryl is professional, yet down to earth. There’s never a dull moment with Cheryl. With her experience as a sports commentator, radio host and motivational keynote speaker, Cheryl keeps the energy moving while focusing on the goal of the event she’s at.

Success in one field doesn’t necessarily translate to another area. In the case of former Canadian Women’s hockey player, Cheryl Pounder, who has made the transition from ice to stage, the move has been a triumph.

In the sports world where accomplishments are measured by medals and titles, there aren’t many who can claim a list of achievements as glowing as Cheryl’s.

Her run of success began early in the 1990s when her ice hockey team won the Under-18 Canadian National championship. In 1994, she won Gold for the first time at the 1994 IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship, and during her illustrious career with the National Women’s team, Cheryl won two Olympic Gold medals (2002 and 2006) and was crowned IIHF World Champion six times.

The shining on-ice achievements aside, it’s been Cheryl’s varied experiences on international stages that have made her an in-demand speaker, with keynote clients such as Tim Hortons, Maple Leaf Foods, CIBC, TD Bank, Manulife, Women in Leadership Groups, Girl Guides of Canada, Western-Ivey-Executive MBA and the City of Toronto, to name a few. She believes that her approach, one that is interactive, passionate and positive, has a lot to do with her ability to cross over to diverse audiences.

“When I speak to people, I want them to connect with material that they can identify with, that stimulates a thought process,” she says.

For Cheryl, everything is rooted in self-confidence, something that was instilled in her as a child. ”My family had a huge impact on my personal goals as an athlete. My grandfather was the GM of the Montreal Junior Canadiens and my grandmother was a prominent softball player in the 1940’s. Along with my parents, they taught me to ‘believe’, ‘finish something you start’, and persevere through adversity.” Adversity can be a learning experience and according to Cheryl, “It is important that we learn not only from our successes but also from our failures. Change is the key to ultimately staying on the path toward excellence.”

It is all part of a journey that we must be willing to take – a journey that must be inspired to take for ourselves and those we work with...our TEAM. To this point, she adds, “When the team goal is met, the individual goals take care of themselves. Seize the opportunities, get outside your comfort zone, trust yourself, and engage in your life, don’t just participate. Most importantly, listen to your strong side, even when your weak side is louder.”

The journey continues for Cheryl – her varied background and knowledge were major factors for TSN & CBC choosing her as a colour commentator for the coverage of the women's hockey tournament at the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In her sporting life and in her life off the ice, Cheryl continues to motivate with a passion that comes across in all her worlds.

Cheryl’s keynotes are perfect for: non-profits, corporations, youth, women.
