About
Jason Lauritsen is transforming management. As a keynote speaker, trainer, and author, he liberates managers from outdated and inhumane practices to cultivate human potential at work and improve people’s lives.
Jason’s advice and teachings are informed by decades of experience as an entrepreneur, corporate executive, and employee engagement researcher. His insights have been described as a “secret weapon” by leaders who strive to create a more engaging and human work experience for their people.
He’s known for his authentic and vulnerable storytelling that challenges you to see things differently. It’s nearly impossible to come away from an interaction with Jason without having your perspective on management changed.
His passion for fixing management likely started with his very first (and very awkward) supervisory job on a corn detasseling crew when he was twelve years old. From there, his relentless curiosity about human behavior and a series of terrible job experiences over the following decades galvanized his commitment to find a better way.
His experience ranges from startup CEO to Fortune 1000 executive. He also spent several years leading the Best Places to Work program for an HR technology company, where he gained deep insight into some of the best workplaces in the world.
Jason is the author of two books, Unlocking High Performance: How to use performance management to engage and empower employees to reach their full potential and Social Gravity: Harnessing the Natural Laws of Relationships.
About
Alvin Law is one of the infamous "Thalidomide Babies" whose bodies were deformed in the early 1960s when their mothers took a prescription drug to
treat morning sickness. Alvin is a powerful speaker who shows the world that obstacles can be overcome with the right attitude. He
is more than just a cheerleader who pumps up the audience to produce momentary excitement, only to leave an empty feeling a short time later. Alvin's
inspirational message is one that will stay with your audience.
Against all odds, Alvin's adoptive parents Hilda and Jack taught him, as a baby, to use his feet. By the age of five, there was nothing he couldn't do. With
a little hesitation on the part of educational experts, he attended a regular school and graduated from the Yorkton Regional High School with Honors. During
school, defying even more odds, Alvin became an award-winning trombonist, drummer and vocalist. That same year he was a Saskatchewan Junior Citizen of the
Year. Again with Honors, Alvin graduated from Mount Royal College in Calgary, earning a diploma in Broadcasting.
Alvin's story has been profiled on numerous television stations, one feature receiving an Emmy Award. He has also been in three documentaries shown across
Canada and the US; the most recent, Extraordinary People, profiled the lives of four Thalidomiders as they approach middle age. Alvin has even
dabbled with some acting, appearing in independent filmmaker Harmony Korine's Julien: Donkey Boy, and in his biggest role Alvin played a preacher on
an episode of The X-Files.
James Lawrence
The Iron Cowboy, World Record Holder, Author, Motivational Speaker
About
James didn’t grow up an endurance athlete. In fact, he could barely finish his first 5k at the age of 28. But that failure fueled a competitive spirit, and a desire to achieve something his current body told him was impossible.
“I was determined to NOT let my failure define me.” Years of focused training shaped James to become an elite short-distance triathlete. Along the way, he learned to push past his mental limits and find his true physical boundaries.
In 2010, James set out on a journey to find those physical limitations. He set his first World Record by completing 22 70.3 Ironman races in just 30 weeks, exceeding the previous record of 20.
“There was a fire inside, and I had to let it burn.” But James did not find his limit – he could reach higher. In 2012 he set his second world record by completing 30 full-distance triathlons in less than 52 weeks, across 11 countries, crushing the previous world record of 22. It was then James realized his limitations weren’t physical, they were mental.
“I knew I could do more, reach higher.” Determined, James set out to find his mental limit and test his focus, determination, and will power, James set out to complete something everyone told him was impossible. Two and half years of strictly regimented training prepared James to attempt this feat. But physical preparation was not enough to carry him through. On July 25, 2015, James overcame all odds and defied all doubts by completing 50 full distance triathlons, in 50 states, in 50 consecutive days (50.50.50). Completing what is now considered the greatest feat of human endurance.
Every one of us has experienced a time in life when we reach our limit; physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. But each of us CAN achieve more, reach higher, raise the bar and silence the doubters. James story of reaching new limits is one every company, school, organization and individual can relate to. He is an ordinary guy, whose extraordinary personal story will make you laugh, cry, reflect, and leave you inspired to reach higher.

What has fear ultimately cost you, your team, your organization? In times of challenge and great uncertainty it’s easy to feel paralyzed by fear, but what if you could stand in the face of fear and know that these are the exact moments in life where you can rise to be your best self. Ask yourself, “What would I do, if I knew I could not fail?” What decisions would you make at work and in your life if you could side-step your fears? These are the questions that leadership expert Ryan Leak is addressing with leaders in Fortune 500s, all-stars in the NBA and over 50,000 people that he reaches monthly through his keynotes.
In his presentation, based on his new book, Chasing Failure: How Falling Short Sets You Up for Success, Ryan shares the blueprint for chasing failure, rather than running from it. He gives leaders and their people the tools they need to see their biggest obstacles as their greatest opportunities.
Ryan Leak is a sought-after speaker, workshop facilitator, and author with deep domain expertise in empowering leaders to reclaim responsibility for leadership and followership in the workplace by designing and delivering a new version of self-leadership that starts with self-awareness.

Ryan trains 15,000+ entrepreneurial leaders and speaks to over 200,000 people each year as a curator of relevant content and transformational storytelling.
In his new book, Chasing Failure: How Falling Short Sets You Up for Success, Ryan blends personal stories, motivating anecdotes, relevant psychology, and practical step-by-step guidance, to show how chasing failure just may be the quickest way to success.
Seen as a commercially aware coach and connector who can seamlessly operate across the spectrum of a business, Ryan helps leaders better understand where their teams are capable of going by addressing the friction of where teams stand today. Using humorous wisdom and poignant narrative, he inspires audiences to recognize the value in chasing failure to become even more than they are – to become the best version of themselves.

Bjorn Lomborg
Author and speaker on the environment and climate change. Author of The Skeptical Environmentalist and Cool it.
About
Bjorn Lomborg is adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Business School and an international keynote speaker on climate change. He is the organizer of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, which brings together some of the world's top economists, including 5 Nobel laureates, to set priorities for the world. Time magazine named Lomborg one of the world's 100 most influential people in 2004. In 2008 he was named one of the 50 people who could save the planet
by the UK Guardian; one of the top 100 public intellectuals
by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazine in 2010 and 2011; and one of the world's 75 most influential people of the 21st century
by Esquire.
Besides working as the director of Copenhagen Consensus and as adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Business School, Lomborg is the author of the best-selling The Skeptical Environmentalist and Cool it in which he challenged mainstream concerns about the environment and pointed out that we need to focus attention on the most important problems first.
The Skeptical Environmentalist had its genesis in 1998, when Lomborg worked as an associate professor of statistics at the Department of Political Science at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. He published four lengthy articles about the state of the environment in a leading Danish newspaper, which resulted in a firestorm debate spanning over 400 articles in major metropolitan newspapers. The articles led to the publication of The Skeptical Environmentalist in 2001, which has now been published in every major language in the world.
Since the publication of The Skeptical Environmentalist, Lomborg has been a frequent participant in public debate. His commentaries have appeared regularly in such prestigious publications as the New York Times, Wall St. Journal, Globe & Mail, The Guardian, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, The Times, The Australian, the Economist, the LA Times and Boston Globe. He has appeared on TV shows such as Politically Incorrect and ABC 60 minutes, Larry King, 20/20, 60 minutes and BBC Newsnight along with shows on CNN, BBC, CNBC, and PBS. In November 2001, Lomborg was selected "Global Leader for Tomorrow" by the World Economic Forum.
From February 2002 to July 2004 Lomborg was director of Denmark's national Environmental Assessment Institute. During this period he was named one of the 50 stars of Europe
(as one of the 9 agenda setters
in Europe) in Business Week. In April 2004, Lomborg was named one of the world's 100 most influential people by Time Magazine.
Lomborg organized Copenhagen Consensus
in 2004, a project which brought together some of the world's top economists to prioritize the best solutions to the world's biggest challenges. Essentially, he asked these experts to tackle the question: With limited resources, how can we do the most good possible?
In June 2006 Lomborg repeated the Copenhagen Consensus
project with top United Nations ambassadors instead of economists. He managed to bring together representatives from China, India and the USA, representing about half the world's population. Their ranking of solutions to the world's challenges was the first of its kind for the United Nations. These two conferences and their results have resulted in two books: Global Crises, Global Solutions and How to Spend $50 Billion to Make the World a Better Place. The last global Copenhagen Consensus
project was held in May 2008.
In September 2007, Lomborg published Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist's Guide to Climate Change, a groundbreaking book that is transforming the debate about global warming by offering a fresh perspective based on human needs as well as environmental concerns. It has already been translated into 17 languages.
In October 2010 Cambridge University Press released Smart Solutions to Climate Change, edited by Bjorn Lomborg. The highly anticipated collection presents a very wide range of climate policy options including ones that are not well covered in the media, making it highly relevant to climate policy debates in search for a new treaty to succeed Kyoto. Also in November 2010, Lomborg released the documentary film, Cool It.
In his most recent offering, How to Spend $75 Billion to Make the World a Better Place, Bjorn presents the costs and benefits of the smartest solutions to twelve global problems. Featuring cutting-edge research of more than sixty eminent economists, four Nobel Laureates, and produced for the Copenhagen Consensus, this book will inform, enlighten and motivate actions to make the world a better place.
Bjorn is also the editor of How Much have Global Problems Cost the World? and Global Problems, Smart Solutions, out in the fall of 2013.

About
Click Here to Watch Nicole's Virtual Presentation
Col. Nicole Malachowski (USAF, Ret.) defies stereotypes. Yes, she was a jet fighter pilot, but if you think you know her based on that, you’d be wrong. A leader, a combat veteran, the first woman pilot on the Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron, a White House Fellow, and an inductee into both the National Women’s Hall of Fame and the Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame, Nicole’s distinguished 21-year Air Force career exceeded her wildest dreams. But the dream came to an end when a devastating tick-borne illness left her struggling greatly to speak or walk for almost nine months. An indomitable spirit, Nicole fought back against overwhelming odds and prevailed. Drawing on stories from her career and personal life, Nicole inspires audiences to rethink the challenges they face every day. She urges them to go beyond resilience and become resurgent.
Nicole empowers people with three key beliefs:
- failure and risk is the price of entry for achieving something great
- sometimes you need to yield to overcome
- and her personal mantra - “nobody wants to lead a scripted life”
Drawing on her extraordinary Air Force career, Nicole offers lessons on leadership, followership, facing change and overcoming adversity - she brings her experience and inspirational story to the stage and holds audiences spellbound with an easygoing authenticity of someone who’s achieved greatness. She’s been a member and leader of exceptional teams. She has faced overwhelming challenges and adversity and has come out on top.
While other high school students were practicing for their driver’s license, Nicole was accumulating flight time. She was sixteen years old when she took her first solo flight - and from that point on there was no stopping her. While in high school, she joined the Civil Air Patrol and participated in Air Force Junior ROTC. Nicole’s professional story began when she earned her commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 1996. Following graduation, she attended Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) at Columbus AFB, MS and began her career as a pilot. Competitively selected to fly combat aircraft, she was among the first group of women to fly modern fighter aircraft. As a career pilot, she served in combat as an F-15E Flight Commander, Evaluator, Instructor Pilot and Flight Lead. Over her 21-year career, Nicole achieved the rating of Command Pilot with over 2,300 flight hours in six different Air Force aircraft. She was also selected to fly as Thunderbird #3 with the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron - the first woman to fly on any Department of Defense military jet demonstration team. Colonel Malachowski has served as a mission ready fighter pilot in three operational F-15E fighter squadrons - and has flown over 188 combat hours, including her proudest moment as a fighter pilot: leading the first fighter formation to provide security for Iraq’s historic democratic elections in 2005.
On the ground, Nicole was a White House Fellow, class of 2008-2009, where she served on the Presidential Transition Support Team (PTST) while assigned to the U.S. General Services Administration. The White House Fellows Foundation and Association awarded Nicole the 2019 IMPACT Award for demonstrating both remarkable achievement and transformational contributions in her field - as well as a sustained commitment to the White House Fellows program. Nicole also served two high-level staff assignments at the Pentagon - one in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD P&R) as well as the Secretary of the Air Force Office of International Affairs (SAF/IA). She also served as the Executive Director of the White House’s national ‘Joining Forces’ initiative where she directly advised former First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden on all topics relating to service members, veterans, and military families to include employment, education, mental health, veterans’ homelessness and more.
Nicole’s operational F-15E assignments include two tours of duty at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom as well as one operational assignment to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. She has also served alongside the United States Army 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Red Cloud, Republic of Korea, as an Air Liaison Officer. During her second assignment to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC, she had the honour of commanding the 333rd Fighter Squadron - leading an elite cadre of F-15E Instructors in the training of the next generation of combat aviators. Further, she was responsible for resources totaling over $1.1B and the execution of a $119M annual flying hour program.
Nicole earned a Master of Arts, with honors, in National Security Policy from American Military University and a second Master of Arts, with highest distinction, in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. While there, she earned the Admiral Stephen B. Luce Award as the class honour graduate, the first Air Force officer in the history of the Naval War College to do so. Nicole has been recognized with several honours for her consistent contributions to community service. As Nicole continues to recover from her neurological tick-borne illness, she embraces any opportunity to educate others about her medical journey - and gains energy from educating others about this growing epidemic. She is on the Board of Directors at the LivLyme Foundation and is a Patient Advisory Board Member of The Dean Center for Tick Borne Illness.
Colonel Nicole Malachowski, USAF (Ret.) was born in Santa Maria, CA and graduated high school in Las Vegas, NV. She and her husband Paul have twin children; son Garrick and daughter Norah. Paul is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and former F-15E Evaluator Weapons Systems Officer.
