About Johnny Quinn - Former Pro Football Wide Receiver, U.S. Bobsled Olympian, and Inspirational Speaker on Change:

Johnny Quinn is a professional speaker who travels the globe to inspire audiences by delivering thought-provoking and action-packed messages to businesses, teams and organizations. He digs-in deep on the lessons learned in pro football and what it took to become a U.S. Olympian. He dives-in to the knowledge shared by mentors of uber successful businesses and the daily decision making of leaders and winners. Johnny equips us to embrace change, accept risk to live life on purpose.

Johnny has an athletic background which opened the door to many opportunities. He is a U.S. Olympian in the sport of bobsled and competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He traveled the world with Team USA and competition took him to Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Switzerland. Competing, living and interacting within different cultures around the world has provided a unique perspective, and ability, to connect with today’s diverse workforce.

Johnny declared for the NFL Draft in 2007 and was ranked in the Top 10 at the wide receiver position in career receptions, career yards and career touchdowns at the collegiate level. Thirty-five wide receivers went on to be selected in the 2007 NFL Draft, and Johnny was not one of them. Shortly after the draft concluded, he signed his first free-agent contract with the Buffalo Bills. In 2008 he signed his second free-agent contract with the Green Bay Packers. After bouncing around the NFL for two years, Johnny went on to play in the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2009 as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He played the Montreal Alouettes in the 97th Grey Cup and lost 28-27 on a 33-yard field goal as time ran out.

Johnny was cut three times, lost $2.6 million in NFL contracts and blew out his knee. He then became a U.S. Olympian. From an NFL failure to a U.S. Olympian, his “what’s next” attitude led to success he never imagined.

It was a long-time goal of Johnny's to write and publish a book. His dream came true as his first book was released in February 2018, PUSH: Breaking through the Barriers. After the first 12 hours on, the book was temporarily out of stock which was a pleasant surprise to see as a first time author.

He has been featured on ABC, CNN, CBS, Good Morning America, NBC Olympics, Fox Sports, TIME, USA Today and many other media and news outlets around the world. He even earned a spot to compete on the popular TV show, American Ninja Warrior!

Johnny graduated with a Pre-Law degree in 2006. In 2011, he was inducted into the University of North Texas Hall of Fame as a first ballot candidate. In 2013, he was selected as one of two receivers to the University of North Texas All-Century Team. When not globe-trotting for speaking engagements, he lives north of Dallas with his lovely wife Amanda and beautiful baby daughter Amelia Rose.

What Johnny Quinn Talks About:

Think Like an Olympian
As a United States Olympian and former professional football player, I have studied and acquired knowledge from some of the brightest minds. I have experienced that with the right mindset, goal setting strategies and techniques, we all possess (and can learn) the necessary tools to win. I tackle the daily battles we all face when trying to accomplish our objective, in any arena of life.

In this action packed message, the audience will learn:

  • how to navigate obstacles
  • cultivate change
  • develop a winning game plan to align what they do at home, at work and in the community

Digital Marketing Strategies to Build your Brand
During the Sochi Olympics, I got stuck in my Olympic Village bathroom and had to break down the door. The picture of the busted bathroom door went viral and has been retweeted over 27|000 times and seen by an estimated 10 million people around the world! I have been featured on ABC, CNN, CBS, Good Morning America, NBC Olympics, Fox Sports, TIME, USA Today and many other media and news outlets around the world. I earned a spot to compete on the popular TV show, American Ninja Warrior, picked up an endorsement deal from McDonald’s and even trained with a S.W.A.T. team. They showed me how to break down a door the right way with a battering ram!

This interactive presentation will guide the audience through the “ins and outs” of social media responsibility and how to use their digital platform to their advantage. We will look at, and dissect, industry leaders and “the flops” when it comes to posting online content. It is important to understand that what people and brands post online today can, and will, affect their relationship with clients and customers. Their online content can also affect opportunities down the road with future employers.

Dream Big, Again!
I grew up playing Texas High School Football and my dream was to one day play in the NFL. That dream came true at 22 years old, but by age 26, I had been cut three times, lost $2.6 million dollars in NFL contracts and blew out my knee (torn ACL and meniscus). With my first dream clearly dead…I had to embrace change, stare fear in the face and learn how to dream BIG again! I began a new career as a bobsledder for Team USA.  In professional sports, they call age 30 old, but it was at this point I became a United States Olympian! I competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia and traveled the world with Team USA competing in Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Switzerland. Only three people have played in the NFL and competed in the Winter Olympics.

This powerful message engages the audience to:

  • think outside of the box to accomplish their dreams
  • anticipate unexpected opportunities
  • understand that failure is not fatal, rather a springboard to success

STEM in Sports – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Today, Olympic timed events come down to 1/10|000th of a second, thanks to high tech timing devices, while high speed digital cameras catch more accurate photo finishes. I discuss the critical role of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) play in the modern Olympics. We have sleeker, faster bobsleds that were developed by BMW engineers. Special suits and helmets are designed to provide safety, optimal body cooling/heating, and aerodynamic qualities.

This educational message will encourage the audience to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by demonstrating how those careers are critical to all kinds of interesting applications, including the Olympics.
